If was informed of the passing of long time TCA and Lakes and Pines member Tom Jefferson. Tom was instrumental in the local train scene for many years as he produced the Greater Upper Midwest Train Show at Century community college in White Bear Lake along with his family. Tom and his smile will be missed. No word on the service at this time. We will update the in Memoriam page on the website when we get the details.

The March 11th open meet is coming up fast. We will open the doors to members that are selling so they can set up at 11:15 AM. We will let the public in at 12:15 PM so please get setup right away. If we are ready by noon we will let them in. We expect a decent crowd and flyers have been sent out to TCMRM, Scale, Hub and Choo Choo Bob’s. A Craigslist ad has also been posted. A reminder that tables are for members only. Peter Southard, A.K.A. “The Train Doctor” will be on hand with a test track to help the public with Lionel train issues / questions and I believe Al Osterud will be on hand to work on the Marx trains that come in the door. If there are other questions that arise we will search out subject matter experts. Refreshments will be available as always so grab some lunch and support our great club.

The 2018 TCA national convention in Warwick, RI is coming up fast. If anyone has any agenda items or questions you would like the National Board of Directors to answer, please let me know. There are still several members that have yet to pay their 2018 dues. Susan will be attending the front table so please wrap this up on the 11th .

Our website has been updated and we are still making a few changes to layout and content. Please check it out at www.tcalakesandpines.com and let us know what you think and what you would like to see added. Thanks and hope to see you on March 11th.
