Lakes and Pines Division - Train Collectors Association

We had a nice turnout for our October meet despite competing with the Vikings and decent weather. Once again there were some amazing like new trains for sale. It is hard to believe that these pristine items still show up. You don’t want to miss any of our meets because
you may miss that item you have been looking for your entire life.

Our open meet is coming up fast and we are hoping for a good turnout. Each paid guest will get a TCA orange bag that contains information about joining the National TCA and once our guests see what the Lakes and Pines has to offer they may be inclined to join us. These are referred to by National as an orange bag event and are sponsored by National. Our current national President, Peter Atonna is anxious to hear how it goes.
The flyers have been distributed to all of the usual places and the ad has been up on Craig’s List for several weeks. The doors will open for member set up at 11:15 am and the public will
be let in at 12:15. Non-selling members will be let in at Noon. A big thanks to Mike Helde who will be running his amazing standard gauge
trains. The Train Doctors – Peter Southard, Bill Kane and Al Osterud will be on hand to answer questions and due simple repairs and
maintenance on toy trains. Hotdogs, chips, cookies and Pop will be available for purchase.
Please support your club and enjoy a nice lunch while doing it. As always, tables are free to members. We ask that the sellers
remain set up at their tables until 2:30 since that is what we advertised. Admission remains at $3.00.

If you are a Board Member or just want to help out with the Holiday party on December 8
then reach out to John or Sue Ellingson. They can always use a hand.
I will be up north on the 10th
but will be thinking of all of you. Enjoy the meet and enjoy your club!

Have fun on the 10th,
Mike Speltz
